Hudson Fire Department July 26, 2010 Town Council Report All of the items for the AFG Personal Protective Equipment grant have been received. The grant is in the process of being closed out which cannot be completed until December, 2010. The Grant from Steuben County Community Foundation was closed out last Tuesday, July 20. With the Ashley-Hudson Festival coming up, the department will be washing Main Street on 28 or 29 July. On August 6, at 7:00 p.m. the department is hosting, with Ashley Fire Department, a water ball tournament at Smiley Park, Ashley. A blue light parade follows. There is a breakfast at 6:00 a.m. on August 7 and the street dance will begin at 5:00 p.m. at the fire hall. The HMMWV developed a dead battery which has been replaced. The department is developing an identification system for all of the firemen. It is expected to be in place by the next Town Council meeting. One of the department’s members suffered the total loss of his pick-up truck in a fire at his residence. He had some department equipment (turn-out gear, radio, pager, medical aid bag) in the truck. The loss, $7608.69, has been reported to the insurance company. There have been a total of 8 incidents for the month of July so far,
