Firefighter/EMT 

Applicants must possess Indiana Firefighter 1 & 2 certification or equivalent, have Indiana EMT Advanced certification, Hazmat Operation certification, and extrication certification. Applicant must have the ability to operate all Fire Department equipment, be drug free, and have a valid Indiana driver’s license. Within six months, applicant must reside inside the service area and, as a condition of employment, applicant will have one year to complete any necessary certifications.  Detailed duties, functions, qualifications, and application may be obtained on line at http://www.hudsontown.org/news.htm, by mail with a SASE from Town of Hudson, 115 Parsonage Street, P.O. The Town of Hudson has been notified by the Indiana Office of Community and Regional Affairs that the application for a grant for a new fire hall has been approved.  The grant of $ 326,997  was for a total project cost of $ 405,000 and the site for the new fire hall is on the west side of the existing Town Hall. The status of the fire hall is indicated below.

An award ceremony was held on December 17 at 10:00 am at the State House in Indianapolis.

The grant will be administered through Ann Marie Lindenmeyer of Region III-A who also helped prepare the application.

From grant award to construction

 11/07                Indiana Office of Community and Rural Affairs (OCRA) announces grant award

Completed

01/08                OCRA sends grant agreement to recipient/Town of Hudson

·        Recipient signs grant agreement, signature card, and W -9 form when received and returns it to OCRA

Recipient publishes a Finding of No Significant Impact/Request for Release of Funds (Environmental Release Deadline - 1/31/08)

·        Recipient waits at least 15 days for public comment/Request for Release of Funds Certification and Format II Environmental Review Record to OCRA

·        OCRA waits an additional 15 days (until 1/7/08) for public comment before granting the environmental release

02/08                     Engineer begins design plans, working with Town

03/08                     Recipient receives executed grant agreement from OCRA

(Approximately 2 - 3 months after grant agreement sent to state)

Town signs contracts with grant administrator

 

04/08                     Engineer completes plans and bid specs w/Federal Contract Provisions and applicable wage decision (provided by grant administrator)

Publish bid notification in two newspapers

Send plans and bid specs to state for permit (if applicable)

2nd publication for bid notice

Pre- Bid Meeting with all contractors submitting a bid

 

05/08                     Open bids at public meeting (Bid deadline 5/31/08)

Decision made on lowest responsible bidder Engineer certifies bid tabulations

Chosen construction firm files for local permit

Certification by Chief Elected Official and engineer that all permits have been obtained
