Hudson Fire was called to service to assist with an Active Methamphetamine Lab at the intersection of Hardy and East Wabash St. Hudson Fire was requested by the Indiana State Police Methamphetamine Lab Disposal to provide fire protection during the lab deactivation and disposal. The criminal case is still under investigation. The Ashley Police Departments press release for this case is below.

On Wednesday at approximately 5:00 P.M. an Ashley police officer attempted to stop a vehicle for multiple traffic violations on N Wabash Ave. The vehicle attempted to flee and was pursued until coming to a stop at a residence in Hudson, Indiana. The driver, James D Lipscomb of Kendallville, was taken into custody for resisting with a vehicle and reckless driving. A search warrant was obtained for the vehicle resulting in an active methamphetamine lab and multiple precursors being discovered. Mr. Lipscomb was booked into the Steuben County Jail and has multiple charges pending. Assisting the Ashley Police Department were the Steuben County Sheriff's Office, Indiana State Police, Hamilton Police Department, Hamilton Fire Department and Hudson Marshal's Department. All criminal charges are merely an accusation until proven guilty.
