Siren The warning siren, which was based at the Hudson Fire Hall, was used for both weather alerts and fire department volunteer notification. For the immediate past year problems had been noticed with that siren. However, the siren recently was discovered to be non-functional and had shorted out, destroying it. The type siren, Federal Signal Corporation STH10 with pole mount and the necessary controller, for which the grant was requested, will provide additional capability. In addition to the normal wail and steady signals which will advise the residents of Hudson of both natural and man-made disasters, it also has a fast wail which will be used for terrorist, particularly bio-terrorist, threats. Due to its importance, the Town Council has approved funding the siren.
